This is a short video of my pier fishing trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina last week. The fishing was done at pier 14 in Myrtle Beach near 14 avenue north. You can also catch a fire works show from pier 2 at the end of this video. Pier 2 has a fire works show every Wednesday night in the summer. Starting in 1905 with the first railroad to New Town ( Myrtle Beach ) from Conway. Myrtle Beach became an official town in 1938, and a city in 1957. I've tried to put them in order the best I could. Go full screen A collection of postcard and photos of Myrtle Beach South Carolina Pavilions history.(1908 - 2007) First built in 1908 as part of the Seaside Inn (MB first motel) the wooden structure was lost to fire around 1915 and was rebuilt in 1925 at the beachfront site out of wood and lost again to fire around 1943. In 1948 it was rebuilt for the third time out of concrete and steel, with a giant wood dance floor on the second floor. Complete with a stage and grandstand for watching all the action. The building stood proudly over the years through 5 or 6 hurricanes with minimal damage until it was demolished by B&C in 2007. Hopefully a new Pavilion and Boardwalk(we have a new Boardwalk) will arise even bigger and better in a few years.
